Lake Sevan is located not far from Yerevan at an altitude of 1900 meters above sea level. It is the largest lake in the Caucasus, its area is 1240 square kilometers. In ancient times Sevan was called the sea.
From all sides the lake is surrounded by mountain ranges and nearby is a very beautiful medieval monastery Sevanavank.
Many species of fish and crustaceans live in Sevan. Numerous cafes on the shore of the lake prepare local catch, it is here that you can taste the freshest Sevan crayfish, whitefish, ishkhan and much more.
