Cave of Birds - a fairly large complex of karst caves, which were used by people from ancient times. The oldest layers with household items were attributed by researchers to the VI millennium BC. The cave consists of three halls and many corridors and passages. Since 2007 this area has been explored by 12 archaeological institutes from 9 countries.
Scientists have found ceramics, burials and the remains of dwellings in the Bird Cave. The most significant object found is leather shoes 5.5 thousand years old. Today it is the oldest leather shoe in the world, it was created before the construction of the pyramids in Egypt and Stonehenge in England.
